Uses too much battery

I like the way I wake up slowly with this alarm but could the software developer please improve the battery usage???? This app uses up 30% of my battery during the night!!!!
I think if they would just get rid of the countdown feature, it would greatly improve battery savings. Who cares about a countdown clock while youre sleeping?!?!
